Booktime workshop with the Book Trust

Class: Class 1 Year: 2022 - 2023

Book Trust workshop for Reception children

Why we are doing this

At Booktrust , we know that there is no wrong way to read a book.  Whether families are discovering the story through pictures, using books as a conversation starters or deciding to share stories on the walk to school, every interaction with a book helps improve children's imagination and wellbeing.

We're going to find the Monster!
By Malorie Blackman and Dapo Adeola
Workshop with Mrs Bull
Thank you to all who came, the children realy enjoyed the session. Mrs Bull shared a book with reception children in the school library that they have taken home to keep and to share with their family. We can't wait for you to find out who the mysterious monster is that the heroes are hunting.
Spending time together reading at home is so important as it has such a positive impact on your child's imagination, language and wellbeing. Reading is a great way to find some relaxing time together.
After reading the book we discussed families, the different animals and counted the animals. We spoke about what our own journey would be like and drew a map.
